Those offended by what you write (if any) obviously don’t care enough about the importance of clarity when communicating – irony is indeed one of those terms that when misused has a similar effect to fingernails scraping down a blackboard, it puts the ignorance of the user on full display – for the sake of face, we mostly neglect to correct people and that’s just fine, explain the difference and watch the indifference.
